Today starts a 2 week holiday
I invite you to click on the picture above
if you put your mouse on the video there is a bit of a story. In the last week of the school term we walked this part and back again http://www.hastingsdc.govt.nz/activehb/walks/rotary_eit.pdf. Today we walked as far as the Chesterhope Bridge and back http://www.hastingsdc.govt.nz/activehb/walks/rotary_hohepa.pdf. Next week we do the last bit. It doesnt look long but we shall see.
Took Our Home Schooler to the dentist to get a tooth pulled. Iit had an abscess on it. Anaesthetic doesnt seem to help my poor boy. He was in a lot of pain. He was very upset.
As I was in there I got attack of the guilts. Why do we allow our children to undergo pain? Sure he said it was sore on Saturday and needed pain killer. But he hadnt said anything since. Yet I made him go to the dentist. I keep telling myself it would have gotten bad again but I have a strong voice telling me how mean I am.
At the time of writing this he is ok again. Mr Wonderful is wonderful and helped look after him.
This morning My home schooler and I got up at the crack of dawn and went to take part in the Sea scouts parade for ANZAC day. It sure is getting colder. It was fine though so that was good. Afterwards we went to the Returned Services Association and had a coffee with a nip of rum in it – yum!!! and a bite to eat. While the service was taking part I thought of my grandfather on my mothers side. He fought in WW2. My other grandfather on my fathers side was a farmer so he didnt have to go to war. My maternal grandfather died when I was about 10. I kinda remember him. He seemed like a nice man to me. I remember before he died he was living in this little house (only a couple of rooms which at the time seemed very strange to me) on a piece of farm land. He had a bad limp probably a war accident.
Vacuumed the house and sorted though My Home Schoolers clothes to see what still fits and what doesnt
was suppose to get 2 new tyres for my car today but the guy said it would take an hour and a half so we rebooked for Monday
This afternoon My Home Schoolers friend (Colin) came over for a sleep over. We watched this movie tonight.
Last night Our Little Man cried and cried he was so sad he wanted to sleep in Our Home Schoolers room with the big boys. He is besotted with Colin. Eventually he fell asleep.
You know how I said “you have to be in to win” on Tuesday
well it paid off I got three emails this morning
and I won these
click on each of the photos will take you to 3 ladies beautiful blogs – thanks again
This morning the boys woke at 6am!!! I am going to get breakfast in bed. Colin’s idea – what a sweet kid. I told them they could watch a dvd until a bit later though LOL

It’s been a full week for both of us, Jen.
And you were right about your boy’s tooth: if you’d waited it would’ve just gotten worse, and a badly abscessed tooth is nothing to fool around with.
Congrats on winning the contests! You made quite a haul, and I LOVE those amethyst drop earrings.
Hope your new week is blessed, and happy holiday.
Love and hugs,
Diane

Beautiful earrings!! Congratulations!
I can relate to the tears of your littlest one, not being able to sleep with the big boys. My boys are almost 6 years apart and while they get along famously, my little guy ALWAYS wants to hang with his big brother and sometimes he’s just too young.
No fun to have a tooth pulled but sometimes it’s unavoidable. He looks like he’s not holding a grudge… breakfast in bed? So sweet!
Thanks for the prayers for my sick guys! They should both be on the mend in no time.

I think you were right about the tooth. Sometimes having a smaller pain now prevents a bigger pain later. If the tooth was abscessed it could have caused all kinds of trouble if left alone.
