Where Have I Been

Filed under: week in review — by my3boysandi @ 8:17 am

It all started at the beginning of the week
I wasnt able to visit some of my bloggy friends through their actual blogs
Then when I could I couldnt leave messages
I was only able to read blogs through my goggle reader and even though not in the usual way

All very strange and frustrating

Mr Wonderful reckoned it was the fault of the ISP or the phone company
I dont know
Then I wasnt able to get into my blog here and I miss it

I could still get into our Home Schooling blog http://homeschoolingdiary.wordpress.com/

I missed blogging  I missed writing

Last night I finally got it all back

So glad to be back and so nice to have got many visits while I was away (I have responded to them as I always do :) )

Bless you all

Week In Review

Filed under: Home and Family, week in review — by my3boysandi @ 8:53 am

Our Little Man started kindy officially today :)

He was very excited before we got there. He ran to the sandpit once there. I told one of the teachers, we were going and she came and supported him. He was so good – no tears – just a nice hug. He went off happily with her to get a stamp because he was so good :)

tuesday-1.jpg

Play group – there were new stamp markers and he did have fun with them :)

This afternoon Mr Wonderful and I both went to pick up Our Little Man from kindy. he was doing a jigsaw puzzle. He was apparently even happier today and he sat on the mat with his teacher and sang songs and listened to the story :)

I had wondered if doing both play group and kindy would be too much but he coped better than last night and fell asleep cuddled up to me in front of the TV at 7pm. I transferred him to his bed with pj bottoms and a night nappy on and thats where he stayed all night :)

Today I decided to eat my lunch sitting on the step of our lounge – eating cheese on toast with tomato sauce and watching Our Little Man
He doesnt go to kindy today only Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons but that didnt stop him asking if he was going to go. Bless him. I guess he means he likes it which is really good :)

Mr Wonderful dropped Our Little Man off at kindy this afternoon. I picked him up at the end and he walked the whole way home (1.1 kms or 0.6 miles). I had brought the pushchair but he wanted to walk even when his feet were tired. I awarded him with popcorn when we got home :)

This afternoon we went to the Warehouse and My Home Schooler brought his new bike

Then we went to a local estuary

there was interesting suggestions as to what might live down the hole. A fox? (we dont have them in New Zealand) a penguin? a baby walrus? a rabbit :)

It was an enjoyable afternoon

My Home Schooler has a bad cough thou and the ride didnt help so I did his paper run for him leaving the boys with our nice next door neighbour

Also went grocery shopping after dinner – Im gonna sleep well tonight!!

House work day

I do like it when my house is spic and span after this happens :)

Had a quiet rest of the day I have My Home Schoolers sore throat and runny nose

I always catch everything going around always have done :(

Had a nice family evening watching this movie on TV and eating marble cake (which I had actually thought was more like a rainbow cake than a marble cake) and drinking fizzy drinks that My Home Schooler brought. Bless him.

Mr Wonderful was very interested in how they can make the different coloured layers in the cake

lazy-sunday-link-logothumbnail.jpg

A very quiet day today Im sore in the head – all stuffed up :(

I found out this morning the answer to Mr Wonderfuls wonder at the marble cake

with the wonder of the cake still in our minds we (My Home Schooler and I) tried making one this afternoon and it did turn out marbled not rainbow as we had hoped but we can try again sometime in the near future

verdict – yum!!

what an evening!! Our Little Man fell asleep over the dinner table so I put him to bed.  A couple of hours later he was awake again and refused to go back to sleep for hours.  I didnt go to sleep till after midnight and ended up sleeping in the lounge.

pink!!!!

Filed under: My Thoughts — by my3boysandi @ 7:53 am

The other day My Home Schooler was required to draw something pink for a home schooling art blog we contribut to regularly. He nearly didnt do this one. He thought it was a girly colour to work with. He even asked if I could email Barb and ask her if she could do an alternative one for boys :)   We walked though the house with me trying to find unisex items that had pink on them, like the shampoo bottle that Our Little Man uses.  Finally he settled on an icecream :)

Funny how some kids think certain colours are meant to be used only by certain people

Its all about stereotyping and lets face it pink certainty has been used by the media to push things at girls

Week In Review

Filed under: Dari, Home and Family, week in review — by my3boysandi @ 6:25 pm

Well Our Little Man did wake up at 3am and I went and sat in the boys room for a while. When I woke up this morning at about 8am who should be in the middle of our bed but you guessed it Our Little Man. I have no idea when he came in and neither does Mr Wonderful. However it was Mr Wonderful who pleaded guilty saying it was too cold to get up.

And boy was it cold

I was amazed at our grass. You can see where the early morning sun hasnt melted the froze in the shadows

When I was a girl I use to love it when Jack Frost had been. I walk through the grass to feed the guinea pigs and see where Id come from.

Home schooler was better today. We did lots of maths as well as other things :)

Took Our Little Man to kindy. He likes it but wont join in on the mat time yet. The teachers said not to worry.

tuesday-1.jpg

playgroup and kindy for an hour and Our Little Man wasnt as grumpy as he was last Tuesday night thank goodness

Mr Wonderful took Our Little Man with him thus allowing My Home Schooler and I to work in quiet
The last couple of nights Our Little Man has been sleeping right through the night in his own bed :) YAYE!!!
taglogonew.jpg
when My Home Schooler was at sea scouts I wen birthday shopping
I got him a pair of pants that unzip to make shorts – he has heaps of tshirts but so many pants
i also got him this book and from Our Little Man I got him some Das

My Home Schooler went swimming on his own this afternoon. I didnt want to go as Our Little Man has a terrible cold. Instead I got crafty

I started off making this pyramid which i thought looked a lot like an evenlope.

Then I made a letterbox for it

and I also put a little birthday card in it

Tonight while My Home Schooler was at youth group I went grocery shopping then treated myself to a MCDs hot chocolate – I do like them!!! and a hot cake pie

saturday.jpg

This morning I did My Home Schoolers paper run for him.

Then we went out to breakfast at McDs. The little gnome (between Mr Wonderful and My Home Schooler ) was one we meet this morning. He is apparently traveling around the Hawkes Bay and then is going to go on a world tour. Id like to do something like this one day. Rather like the Flat Stanley project.

A couple of weeks ago My Home Schooler stuffed his bike. He tried to ride over a kerb and the front of his bike didnt handle it. Its going to cost $150 to fix it. So with $$ from the paper run and some $$ he got for his birthday we went to the shops but didnt have quite enough. We have decided that he should get a bike with suspension so it will handle better how My Home Schooler rides it. Hes using my bike until he can afford a new bike. The advantage from getting it from the shops is a guarantee.

Had a lazy rest of the day. Read my book.

lazy-sunday-link-logothumbnail.jpg

cleaned up my house today :)

Ive been going through Daris singsnap. I never knew she had this until very recently. I knew she loved singing and Ive been having a good time singing the songs we both love(d). This afternoon I found this

The Policeman

Filed under: Home and Family — by my3boysandi @ 3:15 pm

Mr Wonderful took Our Little Man to kindy this afternoon for an hour.

The teachers have been really good allowing us to do this and on Monday he starts going 3 afternoons a week for 2.5 hours at a time.

Although I wasnt there today Mr Wonderful told me Our Little Man had worked out this play all by himself. I love how he gets ideas and plans into his head and then works out what he needs and starts playing his games.
