Proximidade” and “I Love Your Blog” Awards

Here’s a little bit about the award:
To translate the gift from Portuguese to English, it means: “This blog invests and believes, the proximity” [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proxy].
They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate?
Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.

I Love Your Blog Award

Just had a BIG cry

Mr Wonderful texted me to tell me they know whats wrong with Mum

She has ESBL – extended spectrum beta lactamase producers

I had been out at the pools.  When I got home I looked on the internet to see what that is and its a superbug that is resistant to antibotics.  I couldnt find much info on the internet :(

So I rang a nurse friend and she told me it might be lethal :(   Please pray

Please Pray

Filed under: Home and Family — by my3boysandi @ 8:27 am

Mum and Dad Wonderful are in hospital

Mum has been there for about 2 months.  She has a several breaks in her hip and everytime she goes in to have surgery she catches infections.

Then late yesterday afternoon Dad was visiting her and had another one of his turns.  He did this last school holidays about 10 weeks ago.  They sent him home and said hed probably need a replacement placement.  That hasnt happened yet and know hes in hospital again because of it.  Grrrrrrrr hospital systems!!!

Last night when Mr Wonderful told me I burst into tears.  I love them both.  I kinda feel guilty I dont think I have as been as supportive of Mr Wonderful as I should have been while his mum has been there.  I plan to go and see them both in the next few days.  Please pray

Dad Wonderful only stayed one night

His blood pressure is playing up.  The hospital readjusted his pills.  I spoke to him on the phone yesterday, it was nice chatting to him, hes very special.  Hes home.  Now I just want the hospital to get on and do something about his pace maker

I had a wonderful sleep in my own bed.  All before 8 am I had breakfast, hang a load of washing on the clothes line and removed my greys :)   I was very pleased with the result as I had never dyed my hair all by myself before :)

The old me (believe me there are a ton of greys)

The New Me – my hair is now chestnut brown (I dont know whether you can theres a difference but I like it)

Today I became an aunty again :) My sister had another little boy :)

Today I found I had received an award from Barbara.  Thanks I love the meaning behind it and I LOVE butterflies.

. “To translate the gift from Portuguese to English, it means:”This blog invests and believes, the proximity” [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proxy] How awesome is that??

We all went on a home schooling trip. This was Mr Wonderfuls first one :)

This week has been much better.  The main reason I had my retreat last weekend is because of the way Mr Wonderful had turned into Mr Unwonderful.  Hed been picking on me a bit.  We had a good talk and things as I said have been much more friendly around here again.

This morning some home schooling friends came over for the morning.  Then they took My Home Schooler swimming in the afternoon

Year Book Yourself

Filed under: Home and Family, My Thoughts, meme — by my3boysandi @ 4:14 pm

I found this neat website first on facebook and then on Amys blog

I think this is one of the better websites at doing this.  It lines up the faces real well.

me

the 2nd one reminds me of my sister, who was a hairdresser before she became a mother.  She looked quite like this.  Ive had a bob before, people use to say it used to suit me, I guess bobs do suit me.  The last funny makes me like a school teacher LOL

Mr Wonderful – Ive always thought he was good looking in his own way – I especially like the first two photos

My Home Schooler

In the 3rd photo he reminds me of a guy I use to work with in my first full time job.  I had a crush on him.  The last one might have looked like his father who apparently at one stage had an afro

I was blessed by my friend Melissa

she gave this award

Our Little Man came home from preschool with a book.  Hes allowed to keep it.  The publishers donate these to preschoolers sometimes.

My Home Schooler and I made this Norwegian Apple Cake for play group

tuesday-1.jpg

play group (where we played with play dough as well as other things.  One of the ladies made a snake out of playdough)  and later in the day I brought some snake lollies.  There are snakes among other things in Our Little Mans new book.  So weve talking about them a bit.

Our Little Man had made a mess on the floor and he helped clean it up.  Then had great fun for ages LOL

We went to a home schooling friends for morning tea today it was nice

Today after home schooling My Home Schooler and I went and brought some gumboots for his camp coming up this weekend

saturday.jpg

Did a relieving paper run for one of the home schooling boys this morning.  Then took My Home Schooler over to the sea scout hall where he departed some time later for camp.

In the afternoon I had a mini retreat.  I rented a cabin and stayed here.  I got a crab stick, a pineapple fritter and chips for dinner.  I sat on the beach for a while after dinner watching the sea and thinking.

lazy-sunday-link-logothumbnail.jpg

I slept very well – (I dont usually when its a different bed).  I woke early and after breakfast I went for a long long walk along the beach.  It was a return trip of about 2 hours and I had a little detour on the way back to my cabin in amongest some sheer cliffs.  I saw a shag, a couple of gannets (I think thats what they were), and a  tui.

Photos off the internet.  I didnt take my camera :(   Didnt see the tractor but I walked quite away around the coast which y

Then I went for a drive in the car in the country, had morning tea here on the Lone Pine platform and came home.

What Im Learning

Filed under: Home and Family, home schooling — by my3boysandi @ 3:34 pm

Those who are critical of my goals and dreams simply do not understand the higher purpose to which I have been called.  Therefore, their scorn does not affect my attitude or action.  I forgive their lack of vision, and I forge ahead.  I now know that criticism is part of the price paid for leaping  past mediocrity.

The Travellers Gift – Andy Andrews page 139

I have been reading this book.  It really spoke to me last night.  Then God brought to mind some verses too.

Mr Wonderful is very much against home schooling.  We have had some heated discussions about it.  He doesnt get home schooling at all.  He thinks I am over protecting My Home Schooler.  However, I dont think he understands the higher calling that has been bestowed upon me by God.  God has given us our children to be cared for by us, in the best way we see fit.  I beleive by home schooling My Home Schooler I am fulfilling this.  If he had gone to high school next year he would have started on a life to crime I am sure of it.  I want so much more for him than that.  We are mere guardians of Gods children.  He expects us to do a good job.  He expects us to raise and train up His and our children in the way that they should go (Proverbs 22:6).

As hard as it may be sometimes to travel along this road with the scorn that is laid upon it. I cant let it affect me.  I know or am pretty sure of the consequences that would have been lying in wait had I left My Home Schooler at school and allowed him to go to high school.  I have no alternative but to press on.  Whats more I enjoy teaching my son.  He has come such a long way since last year too.  I know this to be true as his private tutor (whom we now have a long assosiciation with) and My Home Schoolers teacher from last year both have acknowledged it.  Through assessment (looking back on what he achieved when at school) I know this too.

I must forgive Mr Wonderful for his lack of understanding.  Something I like to think of when I have to forgive someone is when Jesus was dieing on the cross he said “Forgive them Father, they dont know what they are doing” Luke 23:34.  Maybe Mr Wonderful doesnt fully understand how this affects me.  I cant let him to get to me about this.  I am answerable to God and I feel He wants to do the best for My Home Schooler.

I understand too that home schooling is NOT the “normal” way everybody educates their child(ren).  Things that are not normal can seem strange, foreign and wrong to some people.  I have leapt with both feet into home schooling though (with the knowledge in the back of my ind that if things should warrent it there are other options available).  Having done it once before I know exactly what I am doing and yet I am still learning myself as I go.  Futhermore I have been to teachers college since the first time and now, which allows me to understand more about teaching.  Mr Wonderful would say yes but you were taught to teach preschoolers.  However, I remember especially in the first year at uni/teachers college how I would get upset because I could see what Id done wrong in home schooling the first time round.  I vowed then to change my ways and not be so demanding.  One can learn without a consist hard push push pushing.  I learnt too at uni that one can take criticism and use it to good.  To shape their practise.  Through the fact that I am critised I am a reflective teacher and a reflective teacher is a good one.

I was talking to a friend this morning and was saying to her that I didnt feel convicted by God to home school this time around.  People were telling me to and had been for years though.  However, having just read this (before publishing it) I think God is either convicting me now or at least urging me to carry on.  And this I shall.  As I have said before my sons future is what lies at the heart of all this.  Thats what matter.  Its worth fighting for.
