Week In Review

Filed under: Home and Family, week in review — by my3boysandi @ 4:34 pm

Today My Home Schooler and I made bread rolls that were popular at play group.  Because of picking up My Home Schooler from drama i was able to move some stuff at church around thus meaning I would have less to do the tomorrow

My boys watching the TV in My Home Schoolers bedroom

good morning at play group

spent most of the time outside including morning tea (hosted by My Home Schooler) and singing (done by me)

my pantry before and . . .

afterwards

To see more show photos go over here

My Home Schooler took the recipe for the buns and made a loaf

SORE

I dont know if it was all the walking around yesterday or what but I could hardly move today and was in PAIN

thankfully my back is better again

Over the last few weeks I have spread my Saturdy morning housework chores over the week and it feels so much better

So today I only had to clean the bathroom and wash the floors

church followed by a quite afternoon

Friday’s Fave Five! My first week

1.  Our first week back to home schooling and we are in our last term (New Zealand school terms are broken into 4 terms with holidays consisting of 2 week holidays bewteen them.  Each term is about 10 weeks long) it wont be long before we can say happily we have been home schooling a year.  Whats more this week went FAST!!!

2.  I LOVED this sketch of a kiwi that My Home Schooler drew

3.  Keeping with the thought of a kiwi, My Home Schooler and I got ourselves almost organised to start doing a flat traveller project.  Our flat traveller is a kiwi named Kerry :)   Hes already to be mailed somewhere apart from being lamated which we intend to do next Tuesday :)

4.  My Home Schooler started drama classes this week and theres a play to look forward to at the end of the year which he will be in.  Hes a bit of an actor is my boy and he performed in a couple of school plays when we lived in Auckland.  He enjoyed the class too.

5.  This afternoon at swimming I got some maths marking done and cut out the booklets for our next book in the Laura series – Farmer Boy.  This will actually be the 5th book we have read.  We had trouble getting Farmer Boy.  I was real chuffed when I finally found it.  It looks to be very interesting.

to find out what else we did this week you are very welcome to visit and book mark our home schooling blog  http://homeschoolingdiary.wordpress.com/

Violets

Filed under: My Thoughts — by my3boysandi @ 12:16 pm

I remembered how much I love
violets – their intensity – that
wilful way they have of being
neither purple nor blue but
violet. Loveable too that a bunch
of them can also be a posy

when my sister and I were growing up there was a violet flower bed growing just outside the front door

We would pick posies of them for visitors

they are speical to me they bring back childhood memories

and somehow to me the leaves are just as important and remember as well as the flowers themselves

maybe it was because I was a child and close to the whole plant :)

Boy was it

This makes a mother so proud.  My Home Schooler has struggled with reading for all his life at last he is able to read to his brother and is even getting into easy chapter books

moved Our Little Mans bed back into our room
He has a lot of separation anxity and hates sleeping in his brothers room
He likes to be with his daddy or me
We are hoping having his bed in our room will help
Tonight I was a real blonde (forgive me blondes) I think I did one of the most dumbest things I ever done
I got my car stuck on our front yard
I wanted to park up there
Took our wonderful next door neighbour and Mr Wonderful to help get me unstuck
We watched this on TV I thought it was very very well made

This morning My Home Schooler and I went shopping

Mr Wonderful took Our Little Man with him today

one of the things they did was

Later Our Little Man told everyone what hed had done.  He has never been to a barber before.  I usually shave/cut the boys hair myself

As well as the normal Thursday grocery shop I gave 2 big bags of clothes to the Salvation Army
I dont think i will be having anymore children and Our Little Man has grown so there was a heap of 2 year old clothes and hes almost 3
and I had a sort out of my clothes too
I could have put them on to trade me but I couldnt be bothered loading the auctions
and then as I was there I saw a 50 cent sale for clothes so got My Home Schooler 3 pairs of pants
that boy is forever putting holes in his
also got 2 books for the boys
Im so excited My Home Schooler is reading easy chapter books now :)   :)
and Our Little Man loves Bob the Builder and hammers LOL
i could get hooked on op shops (if I wasnt so into trademe – would save on postage :) )

Im feeling good the vitamins I brought last week seem to helping:)

Late this afternoon we went to the library

Tonight we watched the last part of this very good TV program

went to the library again (got some books for studying in home schooling in Term 4) and looked at an op shop

I am a depressant who takes meds.  Today I started taking St Johns Wort and reduced the meds I take -  have the meds right in the cupboard if I need more of them – I wont hestiate to take myself off the St Johns Wort  if I need to and go back to the full dosage of my meds – it would be nice to wean myself fully onto natural meds though – Im doing this carefully though as the side effects without my meds isnt the nicest

start thinking about the new term

saturday.jpg

Went out as a family to see one of Mr Wonderfuls sisters and also Poppa

seems Mum Wonderful is getting better at long last

late this afternoon and after dinner too I had a big clean up in my office/school room

while I did this the boys (all 3 of them) were working outside with our wonderful next door neighbour

lazy-sunday-link-logothumbnail.jpg

This morning the boys and our wonderful next door neighbour finished the job :)

I found a cool new group this week and if your a NEW ZEALANDER I think its worth checking out

heres the address

only wish Id known about this before I took my clothes to the opshop :)

Nicole Kidman says her three-month-old daughter Sunday Rose is so intelligent she is already reading the encyclopaedia.

saw this on the news this morning

I like Nicole but I dont very much whether her 3 month can read LOL

I have a bachelor in Early Childhood Education and I know this just cant be true

prove me wrong if you can

and actually would you want your 3 month old to be that intelligent

let her be a baby its such a little time in ones life
