Day 11: 30 day husband/partner encouragement challenge

“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” Eph. 5:22

Women who are constantly negative toward their husbands – especially by speaking evil

of them to others – show great disrespect.

Determine not to do that today (or ever!).

This challenge to encourage is closely connected to submission.

Men respond to women who respect them. What do you respect about your husband?

Hes a hard worker. He is a good dad. Hes very supportive. I have found submitting to him and allowing him to be the boss in our house hard. I was a solo mum for 7 years. Slowly I am getting better at this.  I am learning to hold my tongue and speak to Mr Wonderful in private about things I have different views to him on.  I have found that Mr Wonderful is really at good at trying to change some of his views when I have spoken to him in private instead of viewing my thoughts and feelings in front of the children.

  1. Blessings to you dear.

  2. I admire the way that my dh is a good provider and is always there for our children. He’s a hard worker too and he’s better at saying things to people than I am. It’s all a learning curve Jen – sounds like you’re doing well. I found that letting my dh be the leader in our home took a huge weight off me.

  3. Food for thought Jen, I find the idea of my hubby being the *boss* or leader…well, not great. For me we are partners, and as I spend the majority of the time with the kiddos, I have the major say in what goes as far as they are concerned. It seems to work for us. Glad you are working out what works for you 🙂

  6. I have to purpose in my heart about speaking to my hubby about things in private as a show of respect. Good things to think on.

  8. I have also found that my hubby responds better to me speaking to him privately. But I don’t always manage to hold my tongue.
