I took some photos today and look who else did too
play group my homeschooler wants to take part more in this. He co-lead the singing with me today.
We didnt start home schooling till 10 am (we did work till 3.30 this afternoon). First thing this morning My Home schooler took his bike into the bike shop for them to check it over. I remember when I was young and had a paper run we never had to get our bikes what amounts to a warrant. Its going to cost just over $100 to fix his bike up and get it a carrier but it will be worth it I think.
After schooling today some friends came over for a while. The kids all had a lot of fun playing together.
This afternoon we went swimming at the local pools (we do this every Friday afternoon). What really touched me this afternoon was the way all the home school kids care about each other. One of the girls (a bit younger than my home schooler) offered to look after Our Little Man. I was there of course but not in the water. She was so good with him. She has several brothers and sisters and a relatively new born brother. She must be a good big sister. She seems to love little ones so much. Some of the other kids also played with Our Little Man too. One of the mums was concerned about Our Little Man was trying to climb into the bigger kids pool. She wondered whether this was ok. I walked over and reassured her. Our Little Mans friend was there and prepared to take him again. I said to the mum that it was neat how all the kids cared and looked after each other.
Home Schooling Kids Care 🙂
Youth group was good I stayed My home schooler wanted me too. The kids played with an IToy. Id never seen one before. I was quite amazed with it. As I told my home schooler on the way home the only other time Id seen anything like this was in a movie threater foyer about 15 years ago when I saw a man playing a virtual game. He had a helmet on and I seem to remember he became involved in the game physically by witnessing pictures on the visor of the helmet.
this morning cleaned the house and finally it got inspected. This afternoon took the boys to the library and a play at the park.
Weve decided Saturday nights are going to family night. We watched Tron which I think would have been better had I been a bit more computer literate but it was ok.
Church
This afternoon a dear friend came over he fixed some stuff around the house for us. Bless him.
Our Little Man almost fell asleep at the dinner table. Then at 730pm he turned into one cranky 2 year old!!!
Mr Wonderful and I got him ready for bed amidst his wild protests. With strict instructions from me our Home Schooler stayed in the lounge while Mr Wonderful and I turned the lights out in the house, changed into our night wear and hoped into our beds we pretended we were all going to bed we got our irritable 2 year old to sleep. This is very early for him.
Then we sent our Home schooler to bed at the usual time of 8.30. Mr Wonderful then had a nice time together watching The Sarah Connor Chronicles on TV. Mr Wonderful had recorded the last 2 nights worth.
It was a nice unexpected time for us and we agreed that things have been much better for us and behaviorally for our Home Schooler. Dont get me wrong hes still trying to push the limits but Mr Wonderful are backing each other up more and as Mr Wonderful said hes not back chatting as much.
I agree with you. The homeschooled kids are great about taking care of the littler ones. I have seen it time and time again.

Hi, Jen. We don’t have to have warrants (licenses here) for our bicycles, but we do for motorcycles (motorbikes there, I believe). I hope your boy does well with his paper run. It should be good for him to learn some responsibility and make some pocket money.
I’m glad you’re all getting along better. If you and Mr. W stick together and present a united front your boy will soon settle down even more, I think.
Hope you have a blessed new week! 🙂
Love and hugs,
Diane

Hi Jen,
It sounds like your home schooling experience has been wonderful for the entire family–not just your older boy. I love your weeks in review. It feels like we’re at a cafe just catching up. Your meme (previous post) helped me with a picture of a night at your house. I’ll be there at 6! 😉 It sounds loving and comfortable with good food and good conversation.

Hi Jen…my kitty just walked up that morning and had that pellet in his back. I have no clue who shot him or how, but if I did their butt would be sore!!! lol. I love hearing about your busy weeks. And you know I don’t really know anything about homeschooling. I was in a public school my whole life and so was the rest of my family.

Imposing the sleep-early policy is good Jen. I need to do that for myself too. Right now, I promise myself to go to bed by 11 PM every weekday night.
