today was an interesting day
Wanna know what my boys are looking at visit our home schooling blog
Our Little Man fell asleep straight after dinner so Mr Wonderful and I spent some time watching TV together 🙂
I walked to and home again from play group today took half an hour each way. I am low on petrol and cant afford to get more. Nice day so it was quite nice. My Home Schooler rode his bike.
I can see the day when we will have to consider having to start going to a church that closer before too long which will be so so sad.
walked to swimming and took a home schooling friend of My Home schoolers with us. Took half an hour each way. After we got back from swimming went and opened a bank account for My Home Schooler for when he gets his paper run at the end of the month. Youth group I stayed to save petrol it was movie night and we watched Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium it was good and I think we have to get it out ourselves so Our Little Man can watch it too.
My home schooler went out with Mr Wonderful today. They are working. Hope My Home schooler is behaving this a rare treat that could maybe repeated if he behaves.
Blogged and cleaned the house.
Helped a friend of my next door neighbour set up an account with Trademe (over the phone). Felt good helping him. Got a taste for some of the work Mr Wonderful does – helping people with some of their computer problems.
Walked to church and back again today. Almost an hour each way. Id do it again even though I was sore for a while afterwards. The people were lovely. Just 15 people counting us. My Little Man put the candles out at the end with the help of the vicar. Hes never done that before. This church is circa 121 years old. It reminded me of the church that the Ingalls might have attended. (Mind you with further research I found they might have actually attended a slightly larger church). A service is only held there twice a month. It would safe me some petrol – even if I drove the car.
This afternoon we had 3 visitors. First some friends from playgroup came over. Then one of Mr Wonderfuls grown up niece came over. It was so nice seeing them all.
Tonight I showed Our Little Man the stars in the sky. He was so cute. He wanted to touch them.
and I thought Id share my findings out with you
she said she was paying $4 a gallon for gasoline
petrol costs $2 a litre here
1 gallon = 4 litres
and 1.00 USD = 1.33260 NZD
therefore we are paying double what you guys in America are
Im still in shock and we are spending more for food now too

Malaysia’s experiencing fuel price hike too. It’s going to be tough for us but we hope to sail it through…

Another good week Jen. The rising food and petrol costs are scary. I think we are being ripped off and our goverment has to intervene. I now think about when I need to use the car and more economical food options. Your little church is beautiful, such a shame if you can no longer go to it. Take Care, Rachael

We’re extremely lucky we’re not paying what they pay in the UK though! And that we’re able to walk places. But I’d still really like the price of cheese to fall!
That church is so beautiful. I could just imagine getting married in a little church like that.

I’m amazed at what the prices are for petrol here. It’s not only that but food is going up too, we’re spending approx $100 more per month now than what we use to and we don’t buy extras, we buy what we can on special and only the things we need. I wonder how other families manage?

I think most of us are having to tighten our belts, Jen. I know we are, and food is getting outrageous! At $4/gallon US many people here are parking their cars or using them only when absolutely necessary. Praying that better days will soon be here!

I love old churches, there is something so special about them.
As for gas prices throughout the world. I don’t know if we are not going to go into a worldwide depression. Only the rich will be able to afford it.

Wow, and I was cringing at $1.32 a litre which is what it is here. $2!! That is scary stuff. What a cute little church.

What a cute church! And what a blessing that you can walk to the pool and some other things. With my knee problems, I would be hard pressed to walk to our church, which is 10 minutes away by car. And stores would be out of the question. The closest is 20 minutes away by car (and up and down lots of hills.). We can only hope and pray that this crisis eases for everyone around the world.

Thanks for your comments and stopping by my blog!…gas is soo expensive here in Germany too, but like where you are, it’s by the liter. Now I’m going to have to go figure out how much it is compared to the US!
