Week In Review

Our Little Man started kindy officially today 🙂

He was very excited before we got there. He ran to the sandpit once there. I told one of the teachers, we were going and she came and supported him. He was so good – no tears – just a nice hug. He went off happily with her to get a stamp because he was so good 🙂

Play group – there were new stamp markers and he did have fun with them 🙂

This afternoon Mr Wonderful and I both went to pick up Our Little Man from kindy. he was doing a jigsaw puzzle. He was apparently even happier today and he sat on the mat with his teacher and sang songs and listened to the story 🙂

I had wondered if doing both play group and kindy would be too much but he coped better than last night and fell asleep cuddled up to me in front of the TV at 7pm. I transferred him to his bed with pj bottoms and a night nappy on and thats where he stayed all night 🙂

Today I decided to eat my lunch sitting on the step of our lounge – eating cheese on toast with tomato sauce and watching Our Little Man
He doesnt go to kindy today only Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons but that didnt stop him asking if he was going to go. Bless him. I guess he means he likes it which is really good 🙂

Mr Wonderful dropped Our Little Man off at kindy this afternoon. I picked him up at the end and he walked the whole way home (1.1 kms or 0.6 miles). I had brought the pushchair but he wanted to walk even when his feet were tired. I awarded him with popcorn when we got home 🙂

This afternoon we went to the Warehouse and My Home Schooler brought his new bike

Then we went to a local estuary

there was interesting suggestions as to what might live down the hole. A fox? (we dont have them in New Zealand) a penguin? a baby walrus? a rabbit 🙂

It was an enjoyable afternoon

My Home Schooler has a bad cough thou and the ride didnt help so I did his paper run for him leaving the boys with our nice next door neighbour

Also went grocery shopping after dinner – Im gonna sleep well tonight!!

House work day

I do like it when my house is spic and span after this happens 🙂

Had a quiet rest of the day I have My Home Schoolers sore throat and runny nose

I always catch everything going around always have done 😦

Had a nice family evening watching this movie on TV and eating marble cake (which I had actually thought was more like a rainbow cake than a marble cake) and drinking fizzy drinks that My Home Schooler brought. Bless him.

Mr Wonderful was very interested in how they can make the different coloured layers in the cake

A very quiet day today Im sore in the head – all stuffed up 😦

I found out this morning the answer to Mr Wonderfuls wonder at the marble cake

with the wonder of the cake still in our minds we (My Home Schooler and I) tried making one this afternoon and it did turn out marbled not rainbow as we had hoped but we can try again sometime in the near future

verdict – yum!!

what an evening!! Our Little Man fell asleep over the dinner table so I put him to bed.  A couple of hours later he was awake again and refused to go back to sleep for hours.  I didnt go to sleep till after midnight and ended up sleeping in the lounge.

  2. I think that rainbow cake is done in three separate steps, it would take AGES to do. Marble cake is yum, I want to make one now! Your little man is doing so well isn’t he? Except for last night lol.

    thanks LS 🙂

  3. Busy week again for you, Jen. Sorry you and your Homeschooler have bad colds. Hope you feel better soon.

I’m glad your Little Man is enjoying kindy. Hopefully he won’t give you too many more restless nights. 😉

    Have a great new week!

    Love and hugs,

    Diane

Our Little Man is sleeping much better now. Incentives really help. A Lolly in the morning for staying in his own bed all night does the trick 🙂

  11. Oh that cake looked yummy! I would love to attempt something like that, but afraid that I will make a huge mess of it. Betty Crocker I am not.
