A thru Z=A is for (never) Abandon

I consider the fact that God will NEVER abandon us one of His greatest promises. There have been times when I have felt very alone. I was on my own for 7 years. I never dated once in all those years. I was lonely. Something that helped me was realizing this truth. Although I had done the walking out of a marriage and then a relationship I felt I needed to. One of those relatioships was abusive. I still felt rejected. If they had loved me more they would have treated me more kindly. Wouldnt they?

Going back even further. At school I never made lasting friendships. The children would tease and bully me. Here too I felt rejected.

However God will never abandon or reject us. He”is a merciful God” Deuteronomy 4:31

With Him in our lives we are never actually ever truly alone. He stands beside us. Helping us face each new day.

He has great compassion and He guides us through our lives if we allow Him to Nehemiah 9:19

Sure life might deal us harsh blows. We went through a very rough time last year. We were scared about the future. We didnt know what the future might hold. However God never abandoned us and when I needed to He even reminded me to lean on Him. We may face rough times we may face persecution. For some in other parts of the world this is a real life situation they face but God will stand beside us. He will “not abandoned” us 2 Corinthians 4:9

Thank you dear Lord

For always being with us and promising NEVER to abandon us. You in fact promise that one day You will return in the form of Jesus.

A thru Z is going to be my grand experiment of recording the new things God is teaching me—those unexpected truths, possibly a few deep thoughts, and maybe some light-hearted, won’t-mean-a-thing-in-a-year moments where I see a different side of myself, appreciate something new about a loved one, take notice of the previously insignificant, or even glimpse another side of my Holy God. As I move through each letter of the alphabet, I’ll record what each letter stands for from this new perspective with the hopes of leaving a legacy of lessons.
